The Man

Hey there!

I’m a gay Iranian-American raised in the U.S., studying Dentistry and hoping to open up my own practice some day.

Through this blog I seek to inspire other gay Middle Easterners to come out of their shell and be proud of who they are. To talk about issues that plague the Middle East and the gay community.

Being brought up in a Persian household proved (and proves!) to be difficult when my very liberal gay self clashes with the more conservative members of the household.

So follow me on a week to week journey of growing up Gay in the Persian closet!

You are an incredible guy and I am so proud of you!! You will make an amazing companion and dentist, no doubt! Stay strong and prove to others you can endure anything if your heart is in it. Follow your dreams and go where your heart takes you and don’t forget to enjoy the ride.

This is such an amazingly important thing to do! I have travelled quite a bit in the middle east with my boy and had no problems so far, but I can only imagine how difficult it is to live in some of these countries.

    Keep blogging!

    • Thank you, I certainly will try my best.

It was big of you to visit our part of the world knowing the social stigma Middle Easterners have towards the gay community.

      Happy travels!

Hope you are doing well! I am currently working on my master’s thesis looking at identity integration and well-being in Iranian-Americans, and am currently looking for participants for my study. I am particularly interested in this identity integration in LGBTQIA Iranian-Americans. If you are interested in participating you will receive an individualized link to the short, anonymous online survey via email. The survey should take no more than 20 minutes of your time. Also, if you know anyone else who may be interested in participating, please have them contact me. I look forward to hearing from you!

    With gratitude,
